We welcome you to 'home from home' accommodation in a 16th century Somerset longhouse.
Our rooms are characterful and comfortable and we offer traditional home made breakfasts. The house is situated on the edge of the village in a peaceful location. There is a village shop and post office van, Church and pub within a short walking distance. The pub serves bar meals and has a separate restaurant.
Local, well maintained footpaths make this an ideal base for walkers. We are located just off the 'Leland Trail', a national path. Haynes' Motor Museum and the Fleet Air Arm Museum are a couple of miles away.
Situated close to the historic town of Castle Cary, we are only 14 miles from Glastonbury and Wells, within easy reach of Sherborne and 45 minutes from the elegant city of Bath. There are many historic houses and gardens to visit, including Stourhead, Lytes Cary, Montacute and Tintinhull. The Jurassic coast is only an hour's drive away to the south, with unspoilt sandy beaches.
The owners delight in welcoming visitors from overseas and across the United Kingdom. The cottage offers a haven of peace for relaxation and an excellent centre from which to explore the attractions of the West Country.
Ideally situated to break your journey (only a mile off the A303) or to explore the many interesting local places, enjoy a truly relaxed break in a house full of interest and history!
